What happens after you buy a domain
Every order is a new registration that we make for you and then hand over. This page explains the steps and what we can and cannot promise about them.
Checkout on a recently confirmed listing
Checkout is only enabled on listings we have recently re-confirmed. Payment options and the final payable total are shown before you pay.
- Card and PayPal, or crypto, are offered at checkout
- The total shown at checkout is the amount you are charged
- Listings that are not recently confirmed use an enquiry form instead
We register the name and email your steps
After your payment is confirmed, we register the name for you — every order is a new registration — and email the handover steps for that domain.
- Instructions are sent to the email you used at checkout
- Check spam or promotions folders if you do not see it
- Reply to that email, or use /contact, if anything is unclear
Receive the name in your own account
We can push the name straight into your account at the registrar we registered it with. Moving a newly registered name to a different registrar has to wait out the lock on new registrations, usually 60 days; after that you can transfer it out.
- Account push: reply with your account email or username at that registrar, or open an account there
- Another registrar: the name stays registered to you until the 60-day lock ends, then you transfer it out with its EPP/Auth code
- Follow the instructions of both registrars involved — their rules govern the process
Confirm and finish at your registrar
Registrars may send approval or confirmation emails. Responding to them promptly is usually what moves the process forward.
- Approval emails can go to the administrative contact address
- Timing is set by the registrars and the relevant registry, not by us
- Contact support if you are blocked at any step and we will help sort it out
Worth knowing
- • Never post or share an auth code publicly — treat it like a password.
- • Follow the instructions of the registrars involved; their rules decide what is possible.
- • Some registrars ask for specific contact or privacy settings during a transfer — only change settings when that registrar asks you to.
- • Respond to registrar confirmation emails promptly; unanswered ones can stall the process.
- • If you are blocked, contact us with the exact message you are seeing.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the process take?
We register the name after your payment is confirmed, and a push into your account at the same registrar can follow straight away. A move to a different registrar has to wait out the lock on new registrations, usually 60 days, and then takes as long as the registrars involved take, so we do not quote a universal completion time.
What is an EPP/Auth code?
An EPP code, also called an Auth code or transfer key, is a password-like string tied to a domain. It authorises moving the domain between registrars. A push into your account at the registrar we registered the name with does not need one; a later move to a different registrar does.
How do I receive the instructions?
By email, after your payment is confirmed and the name is registered. The email describes the steps for the domain you bought.
Do I have to pay anything else?
The total shown at checkout is what we charge. If you later move the name to a different registrar, that registrar may have its own charges and its own terms. We cannot speak for their pricing.
Can I choose which registrar to move the domain to?
Not straight away. Every order is a new registration at the registrar we use, and we can push the name into your account there at once. Moving a newly registered name to a different registrar is usually locked for 60 days after registration; once the lock ends, you can transfer it to the registrar you prefer.
What if I get stuck?
Contact us via the contact page with your order details and the exact message or error you are seeing, and we will work through it with you.
